Wendolyn Hammer has been designing and creating jewelry for over 16 years. She has satisfied customers requests for a unique item by drawing upon her broad knowledge of metalsmithing techniques and stone setting styles.

She is presently working on an organic & inventive collection of beach stone jewelry and utilitarian objects. Each piece brings the viewer immediately back to the tranquility found along the rocky coast.

This collection has been received with overwhelming praise. It has also caught the hearts of those who live along the New England coast as well as those who have visited here.

 :: ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is organic and inventive. The objects I make are tactile and tranquil. Mentored by the New England coastline and ocean, I gather insights into the earth's abounding beauty and awe, leading me to paths of my own creativity. The use of beach stone and the adornment of it with valuable materials is reflective of my passion for metalsmithing, experience as a jeweller and my love of nature. Embellishment of the stones is achieved with tension settings and inlays. Accompanying the stones are pieces of sterling, stainless steel, bronze or gold, these pieces are either pierced, hand forged or cast. Our societies' ever-evolving relationship with the environment is present at many levels throughout my work. Sometimes simple, undisturbed, graceful and beautiful at other times altered embellished and stamped with the imprint of human interaction.
